Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the top winner. This breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the prestigious Game of the Year award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Adding to the studio's success, the talented actors also received individual awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the audience, with only 4 special—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamer Selection—determined by reviewers.
