Rob Edwards along with O'Neil are two of the initial candidates in the frame to succeed Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Pereira was dismissed on the weekend after the team's ten-game without a victory beginning to the top-flight season.
Furthermore Edwards and O'Neil - each of whom have previous associations to the club - are part of the options to be evaluated by the Wolves leadership.
